Free Scholarships

Getting scholarships isn’t the easiest thing in the world.  I applied for somewhere college scholarshipsbetween 20 and 30… and ended up getting I think about 6 or 7 that paid for all of my 4 years of college.

When I did my search for free scholarships my senior year in high school, there were a few places I looked that really paid off well.

  1. Free Online Scholarship Searches
  2. My high school senior counselor (your school has someone like this… they might go by a different name though)
  3. The college Financial Aid office for the colleges I was applying to

These three places were enough for me to get all of my college paid for.

Free Online Scholarship Searches

This was probably the easiest and fastest way to find free scholarships for college.  Only 2 of my scholarships came from these online scholarship searches, but they accounted for something like $8-10,000 over the 4 years in school.

So… ask me if it was worth the couple hours I spend searching for scholarships online

Here are the websites I used to find scholarships online.  All of them are free.  If you come across a website that tries to make you pay for scholarships… I’d run the other way because there are plenty of awesome free scholarship searches online.

I’m not one to pay money when I don’t have to… if you’re not either… I’d go to each of the websites below, sign up for free accounts… and search away until you come up with a nice list of scholarships you can possibly apply for.

There are a ton of other free scholarship search websites… but I found that these two are the most reputable and only ones I felt like I could trust with my email address.  I’d use these for sure… and find others if you want.

Fastweb.com -

fastweb scholarship search This scholarship search was my favorite.  I used this one more than any of the other ones and I actually found an industry related (the industry my dad works in) scholarship that I ended up getting.  It was a cool $1,000 a year for 4 years… so it was worth the time for me.

Fastweb is pretty darn easy to use.  Just fill out a brief questionnaire so they can find scholarships that fit you, choose a username and password so your scholarship searches can be saved and stored… and you’re good to go.

I’d definitely suggest using Fastweb.

Free College Scholarships.net -

This website is a lot like Fastweb, but has some different scholarships.  Overall, I liked Fastweb better, but this one is definitely worth using because I free college scholarshipsfound that it had scholarships Fastweb didn’t have… and Fastweb had scholarships that Free College Scholarships didn’t have.

Those two scholarship search sites are the ones that I liked the best… and the one’s that I trusted the most.  As I mentioned earlier, there are some shady scholarship search sites out there… so stick with the reputable ones like Fastweb.

If you use another scholarship search site and like it, shoot me an email so I can share it with the rest of the readers.
